Zulu and Bob - Labrador Rescue

18 month old Bob (pale gold) and 15 month old Zulu (chocolate) are both pure labrador boys with sweet loving natures who are full of the joys of life and love just about everything and everyone. They both love playing with other dogs and love children too although they are still a bit bouncy. They also love rides in the car, runs on the beach ...any new experience. Bob is very bright and responds well to training although he needs to lean not to pull on the lead. Zulu walks well on the lead and usually comes when called but needs more training.

Zulu and Bob have been living on acreage, but because the fences are not fully secure, they have been escaping and need to find a new home with secure fences. Both Zulu and Bob have loving natures and will want to be with you as often as they can. They are happy to be with their family doing anything they choose, be it out walking, playing or just relaxing watching TV. They sleep indoors but are outdoor dogs while you are away from home. Zulu and Bob need to be walked at least once a day as well as having play time. They need to be included in the family’s daily routine and not left alone outside.

Zulu and Bob come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love and a gorgeous smile for the right family, for the price of $400 each. They can be rehomed together or separately.

Coby - Labrador Rescue

Coby is nearly two years old. He is a gorgeous pale gold labrador boy with a sweet loving nature who is full of the joys of life and loves just about everything and everyone. Coby had a tragic start to his life as he was subjected to physical abuse which has caused serious injuries to the joints in his front legs. It has not affected his spirit and he is a loving gentle-natured boy who just loves a smooch and a cuddle. He likes to carry a soft toy around in his mouth. But the injuries to his elbows mean that he will only have a short life and although he loves walks he needs restricted exercise. He will be on supplements and have pain management and will always need to sleep inside on a warm dry bed.

Coby is good with other dogs and loves to play. He is still a typical young lab boy and is a bit bouncy and pulls on his lead at the start of walks although he soon runs out of energy. He is always happy to make new friends.
Coby needs someone with a big heart who will give him the love and attention he needs to ensure that he can enjoy to the full the limited time he has left. If you are that very special person who can give this boy the love and care he so much deserves please contact us. You will need to be able to afford vet care for this lovely boy.Coby comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love and a gorgeous smile for the right person, for a donation to Lab Rescue. If you would like to open your heart to this gorgeous boy, contact:Labrador Rescue on rescuealabrador@yahoo.com.auOr Mary on 02 6258 5323

She and her brother were found wandering the streets and were not collected by their owner. She has a gentle nature and loves playing chasing games with other dogs. She is learning the basics, but needs some work on her lead training. Sprite loves a cuddle and will happily snuggle on your lap. If she doesn’t get enough attention she becomes quite bouncy in her need to gain affection.

Peanut is an outgoing, confident boy that plays well with everyone. He is still very boisterous, so is not suitable to a household with young children or timid dogs. Peanut would like to go to a home with another dog to keep him company.

Coco - Labrador Rescue

***** On trial ***** Sixteen month old Coco is a beautiful black labradoodle girl with a sweet loving nature who is full of the joys of life. Coco is a lovely girl who wants only to be one of a happy energetic family. She is eager to please so a fast learner. She is also highly intelligent which means that the odd innovative piece of mischief does occur - usually in the form of stealing something and keeping just out of arms reach until you trick her to giving it back! She loves a good play, but also a good cuddle.

She gets on beautifully with our gentle Jazz and the two spend many hours playing till they drop. However, I don't sense she needs another dog but anyone who will show her interest, talk to her, cuddle her and take her for big runs and walks. I have not heard a growl out of her (even when I picked her up and dumped her in the bath tub on the first morning) and she only gives a short little bark when she wants something. Some training is still required around how to behave inside and to return when off the leash but she has made great leaps ahead over the last couple of days. I do believe that she should be in a situation where she will be one of the family as much as possible. She has chosen to sleep in our son's bedroom and sleeps well till it is time to get up - this morning 7.45am.

Given her size and energy, older children would be better or children who have no problems asserting themselves with an enthusiastic energetic doggy playmate. She and I had one of those conversations where she tilts her head from side to side as if she was hanging on my every word. She is a lovely dog, will make a great family member and we should make sure that the chopping and changing of her homes doesn't continue.

Coco needs to be walked at least once a day as well as having play time with her family. She needs to be included in the family’s daily routine and not left outside on her own. She loves to socialise with other dogs and people.

Coco comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love and a gorgeous smile for the right family, for the price of $400.

Welcome to Rescue a Labrador

It's hard not to love a labrador - but sometimes, for whatever reason, even the most loved Lab needs to find a new home.

Rescue a Labrador tries to help rehome Labs who find themselves in the Pounds or unable to stay in their current home. We almost always have lovely dogs who are looking for a forever family, so if you are looking for a dog - please drop us a line at rescuealabrador@yahoo.com.au.

Each of our dog has a separate entry, so please feel free to browse!

Every dog comes desexed, vaccinated and microchipped, ready to become a member of your family. We also offer follow up services to assist in the settling-in process.

We are always after foster carers to look after our Labs while they are waiting for new homes. If you would like to offer to take the occasional Lab and help them learn what it is like in a real family, please let us know.
