Labrador Rescue Adoption Policy
Want to adopt a dog?
Here at Labrador Rescue we like to make sure we find a dog that suits your lifestyle so we don't waste your time in coming to meet an unsuitable dog.
Labrador Rescue has a rehoming routine for all of our dogs. We ask a list of standard questions to ensure that the dog we give you is suitable for your lifestyle. If we have a dog that we think is suitable, then you get to come out and meet him. If that goes well, we organise a house inspection to ensure that your yard is secure when you are not home. If all goes well, the dog then comes to you on a two week trial.
At the end of the two weeks, if our Labrador is happy with you and you are happy with him, we sign over all of the paperwork and you pay a rehoming fee.
PLEASE NOTE: As we usually have a few people interested in each of our dogs, we compare all of the applicants to find the most suitable home for each dog. I'm sure you can appreciate that we rehome a lot of dogs because many people choose a dog that is not suitable to their current lifestyle. We aim to match the right dog with the right person to ensure both parties are happy and break the cycle of dogs needing to be rehomed.
Labrador Rescue does not cover transport costs for dogs being moved to their new home outside of the Canberra region.
