Our labs visit the vet when in our care for vaccinations, desexing and a general health check. The vets below have seen many rescue labs and are always professional and caring.
Labrador Rescue would like to thank all the vets who treat our labs for their support.

The vets Dr Peter Burgess and Dr Gwen Shirlow are the most humble, caring vets in Canberra. Pete runs his surgery like an old fashioned doctor's surgery. Jelly beans for children and liver treats for the dogs. Aside from his care for his patients and their owners, Pete's professionalism and dedication to healthy pets is admirable. Often we hear stories about how hard Pete's team work, just to save one more life. Their honesty, dedication and straightforwardness is everything you want in a vet.
Pete and his team are very generous supporters of Lab Rescue.

Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital
Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital had its small beginnings as a branch practice at Canberra South Veterinary Hospital. After operating the practice at its original location in Whiteman St Wanniassa for about one year, Malcolm made the decision to buy the branch practice and relocate it to his new home in Fadden in 1983.
At this location the practice operated out of three rooms attached to the house. In 1987 two additional rooms were added but as time went on it was becoming increasingly obvious that the practice had outgrown the location. In 1996 it moved to a purpose built Veterinary Hospital at its current location in the Fadden shops.
From the original staff of one vet, Malcolm McKnown, one nurse, Vicki Douglas, and Malcolms wife Kym dealing with the management side and reception, the practice has grown to its current size with a staff of approximately thirty. In 2007 Karen Van Roy and Benjamin Black became partners in the practice.
We like to think that the practice has grown as a result of the level of care we provide to pets and their owners. We have always regarded it an honor that owners choose us to look after their pets and we hope to always live up to the expectations of our clients.
